Eagle at Jamaica Pond (1/26/2013)

Upon arriving we were told through the park rangers PA system to stay off the ice. Then we saw an eagle fly a ruddy duck into a tall oak at the edge of the woods to feast. Following the meal we watched a beautiful soaring and diving display as he circled the pond for two carcasses on the ice. This caused quite a stir.

People were asking us to look through the scope. The ranger that told us to stay off the ice was all of a sudden or 'best bud' - actually asked if he could have one of my pictures.
